SOFTBANK CORP. (“SOFTBANK”) announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary JAPAN TELECOM CO., LTD. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Hideki Kurashige; “JAPAN TELECOM”) will change its trade name on October 1, 2006 as follows:

JAPAN TELECOM has been pursuing a close relationship with customers as well as credibility and security over 20 years as a fixed-line telecommunications operator. Upon changing its trade name, JAPAN TELECOM intends to further reinforce its strengths through more deepening its cooperation with SOFTBANK Group companies.
