Execution of Follow-on Investment (Second Tranche) in OpenAI

SoftBank Group Corp.

SoftBank Group Corp. (“SBG”) today announced that, on July 1, 2026 (Japan time), it executed the follow-on investment (second tranche) of USD 10.0 billion (JPY 1,627.3 billion*1) (the “Follow-on Investment”) in OpenAI Group PBC via SoftBank Vision Fund 2, as part of the total USD 30.0 billion follow-on investments previously announced in “Follow-on Investments in OpenAI” dated February 27, 2026. SBG plans to complete the third tranche, in the amount of USD 10.0 billion, on October 1, 2026 (Japan time). *2

SBG made borrowings of USD 10.0 billion on July 1, 2026 (Japan time), under the bridge facility agreement entered into on March 27, 2026, to procure the funds required for the Follow-on Investment.

  2. The closing date may be subject to acceleration in the event of a public listing of OpenAI Group PBC shares.
