Financial institutions commit to provide financing through a whole business securitization of the mobile communications business
SOFTBANK CORP. (“SOFTBANK”) announced in its press release dated September 29, 2006, titled “ Update of the status of refinancing associated with Vodafone K.K. acquisition ”, that it would proceed with refinancing its Vodafone acquisition through a whole business securitization of its mobile communications business. SOFTBANK announces today it has received a commitment to provide a planned loan amount from financial institutions expected to participate in this refinancing facility. The aggregate amount is expected to be 1.45 trillion yen.
Many financial institutions are scheduled to participate in this financing, including the following main participants: Citibank N.A., Tokyo Branch, Deutsche Securities Inc., Tokyo Branch, Goldman Sachs (Japan) Ltd., Tokyo Branch, Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd., The Royal Bank of Scotland plc, Tokyo Branch and Shinsei Bank, Limited.
