Donation of Relief Money Following Great East Japan Earthquake: Beneficiaries and Funds Allocated

May 16, 2011--- SOFTBANK CORP. today announced the beneficiary organizations of the ten billion yen personal donation of relief money made by its chairman and CEO, Masayoshi Son, following the Great East Japan Earthquake that occurred on March 11. The donation was previously announced on April 3.

Details are as follows.

Fukushima Prefecture 1.0 billion yen
Ibaraki Prefecture 200 million yen
Chiba Prefecture 200 million yen
Great East Japan Earthquake Recovery Fund
(provisional name)
4.0 billion yen

The 4.0 billion yen donation to the Great East Japan Earthquake Recovery Fund (provisional name) will be used to provide funding for the activities of NPOs dedicated to providing support for children orphaned as a result of the disaster. By helping to finance initiatives such as scholarships and support for overseas education, the fund is expected to contribute to the provision of medium-to long-term support for those afflicted by the disaster. Preparations are underway for the fund to be established as a public interest corporation in early June, and the use and allocation of its support funding is currently under examination. It is planned that the following four individuals will be invited to form the preparatory committee for the fund: Jitsuro Terashima, Hiroshi Komiyama, Jun Murai and Ichiya Nakamura.

In addition to the above donation, Masayoshi Son will donate the whole of his future remuneration as representative of the SOFTBANK Group to provide support to children orphaned by this disaster and other orphaned children.

We offer our sincere condolences to all those who lost loved ones in the events of March 11, and our heartfelt sympathy to everyone who has been afflicted by this disaster. We will continue our efforts to support the affected areas in the hopes that they will achieve the fastest possible recovery.
