What does Karius' AI do?

AI lets us identify over 1,300 causes of disease in 24 hours. We draw on 1.4 trillion data points in our genomic reference database, which has genomic references for the entire sequence of about 16,000 organisms. With this much data to sift through, there is no way humans can match the AI for speed or accuracy.

How do you think AI will change healthcare in the future?

The first goal of AI should be to ensure that every patientis always on the optimal therapeutic path.

Today, we make a lot of mistakes globally...You're talking trillions of dollars and tens of millions of deaths. All because somebody didn't get the right drug, the right test, the right medication, the right dose.

AI's very first goal should be to make that go away.

Do you see any wider ethical concerns in relation to the use of AI?

I love the idea that AI will help us develop medications that can treat me, my wife, my kids, my friendsBut, I do have concerns about how little thought we, as a society, have given about what we want to achieve with AI.

I am absolutely convinced that it's impossible for us to keep pace with machines, which means we truly need to redefine humanity and be responsible in how we use technology in relation to that humanity.
