Doors to anywhere
Where would you go? Who might you meet? What adventures might you have? Would you be back in time for dinner?
Not just rabbits
Would things just appear out of nowhere? Would I have to say them out loud or could I just think them?
How will AI manifest in the physical world? How will manufacturing and supply chains become more efficient? How can we ensure that goods are delivered faster, cleaner, and safer? Our portfolio companies are combining data, AI, automation, and robotics to transform entire supply chains, production systems, and transportation networks. So that humans and intelligent machines can work together to create a more sustainable, fulfilling, and enjoyable world.

What are the broader applications for the combination of AI and robotics?
I think we’ll see a new level of human-AI-robot symbiosis. Whole networks working together to solve problems and perform tasks, each relying on the others’ skills and abilities in a seamless fashion. For example, imagine this blended system working to create a new high high-rise building—robots doing the heavy lifting and dangerous tasks, while humans and AI work on design and aesthetics.

How will our lives be improved through a more autonomous transport system?
Fully-autonomous vehicles will give us a driving experience that is delightful. Maybe you want to sleep. Maybe you want to read a book or play with your kids. With autonomous transport, you end up with a system that is frequent, efficient, and personalized. We have an opportunity to create much healthier cities.

What is the role of AI in creating, as you put it, 'agents of change'?
The data that is available to you defines what you work on. It felt to us that the transportation and logistics industry was crowded around places where data already exists and can be easily accessed. But, once we can digitize objects in the physical world and make that data available, you have vast space for AI to work. Imagine that collective brain optimizing deliveries, routing, energy flows, supply and demand–helping us to be efficient in ways that we don't even fully comprehend yet.
